Meetings are the First Thursday of each month at 10am at the WIC meeting room located at 1311 Mangrove Ave., Chico, CA 95926 behind Papa Murphy's and The Silver Sandbox.

Everyone is welcome to stop by with their kidlets- Dads and pregnant Mom's are welcome, too!

Nine In, Nine Out (NINO) is a babywearing advocacy group.

NINO's primary goal: to promote babywearing by educating the general public about it's benefits.

Those of us who love babywearing feel that the best way to simulate the cozy, warm environment of the womb is to carry babies in a sling or babycarrier. But too few people learn about slings in time to put this into practice.

Babywearing takes some practice and knowledge but once you get it, it will save you a lot of time and energy by having the ability to care for your baby and have your hands free for other chores.

NINO is a nonprofit babywearing organization. It stands for Nine In, Nine Out. This name is inspired by the work of the renowned anthropologist, Ashley Montagu. In his book Touching (HarperCollins, 1986), Montagu proposed that the first nine months of an infant's life be called "exterogestation", a period that is the same length of time spent in utero.

NINO's Mission:
Babies need physical contact just as they need food, air, warmth, and shelter. Babywearing helps parents and other caregivers give babies all the closeness they need while still having hands free for other tasks. NINO’s mission is to promote the art and science
of babywearing to help make it a universally accepted and supported practice.
